2022 Notice on professional practice for Graduate Students in School of Public Health Peking university (2022)

According to the guidance of the Ministry of Education documents, professional practice is an important teaching link, and sufficient and high-quality professional practice is an important guarantee for the quality of professional degree education

 

The three stages of students' full-time study, professional practice and dissertation are guided by the "dual supervisor" mode of the college supervisor and professional practice supervisor. After completing all the required courses and elective courses of the program, students will closely focus on the realities of public health and preventive medicine in various countries and combine global health hot issues to carry out professional practice and dissertation topic selection. In principle, students should not enter the stage of professional practice until they have completed the course study and thesis proposal.

 

Professional practice must be attended for no less than 8 months, for a total of 10.0 credits. Professional practice generally starts from the third semester. Professional practice institutions include health-related international organizations (including African Union CDC, etc.), national or provincial health administrations in developing countries, disease prevention and control centers, medical institutions, medical schools, and teaching practice bases of Peking University.

Procedure

1. Under the guidance of the supervisor, students should submit “Application form for Practicum Supervisor for International Students in School of Public Health Peking University” with Practicum Supervisor’s resume to the Teaching Affairs Office (gwjb@bjmu.edu.cn) for approval before May 31 2022附件1-304永利登录入口聘请硕士生实践导师申请表Application form for Practicum Supervisor for Graduate Students.doc

 

The requirements of Practicum Supervisor:

Practicum Supervisor is performed by professional and technical personnel of professional practice institutions. They must have more than 10 years of work experience in the public health field, have a bachelor degree or above, have teaching or instructing student experience, and have the willingness and time to guide professional practice of students.

 

2. During the professional practice (usually from July 1 2022 to February 28 2023), students should report and communicate the practice situation, problems encountered and solutions to the supervisors on a monthly basis, and record the report and communication situation in detail in the form “Monthly Professional Practice Record for Master Students” every month. After the practice is completed, students should input related information into the system (see attachment 3 step 1-5&9)  附件3-How to input the information of your thesis into the system (2022 update).pdf before February 28, 2023.
